In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, police have arrested Buta Singh, an associate of the Kapil Rajta gang, from Sidhwan village in Tarn Taran, Punjab, just 3 km from the India-Pakistan border. The gang is a notorious inter-state network involved in smuggling chitta (heroin).
According to police, Buta Singh was a key supplier of contraband to Kapil Rajta, a Rohru-based drug kingpin recently arrested. Upon identifying Singh’s role, a police team from Jubbal was dispatched to Punjab, where they successfully nabbed him and brought him back to Jubbal.
Rohru DSP Pranav Chauhan confirmed the arrest and stated that further investigations are ongoing. The accused was presented in court and has been remanded to police custody.
