This is the third case across the state in which the Detention Authority had confirmed the detention order of a repeat offender, Nurpur SP Ashok Ratan said, adding that all three of the repeat offenders were from the Nurpur police district.

As per police information, the accused had been arrested by the Damtal police on April 20 this year and 26.18-gm heroin (chitta) was recovered from her possession during a search of her residence. The police had registered a case under Section 21 of the NDPS Act against her. Ratan said during the investigation, the accused was found to be involved in several cases under the NDPS Act. She had been arrested multiple times by the police, but would continue peddling drugs after getting bail, he added.
