Was staying with her colleague at Paonta Sahib

A woman employee of a pharma company, who was staying in a rented accommodation at Paonta Sahib, tested Covid-19 positive at a Gurugram-based private lab last evening. She was working at Copmed-III Pharmaceuticals Pvt Ltd unit and had not gone for work since April 24.

The test was conducted in the company’s JC Juneja Hospital at Paonta Sahib and then sent to Pathkind lab at Gurugram, as she exhibited visible symptoms of Covid-19. She had come to Paonta Sahib on February 22 from her native place in Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh.

Sirmaur SP Ajay Krishan Sharma said that the woman was staying with her colleague in Ward No. 10 of Paonta Sahib. Both women were shifted to the isolation ward at Nahan medical college where their samples were taken. The room mate of the Covid patient also hails from Uttar Pradesh. She had come here in April and her arrival date was being ascertained to zero in on her contacts. As many as 37 of her contacts had been identified and the number was likely to rise, said officials, who are awaiting the test report.
