The timeless charm of stamps met the urgency of sustainability at the district-level philately exhibition, inaugurated today at the Kangra Art Museum, Dharamsala. Organised by the Ministry of Communication’s Department of Posts and the Superintendent of Post Offices, Dharamsala Division, the three-day event (October 9–11) celebrates both postal heritage and environmental responsibility.
Parveen Kumar, Director Postal Services, Himachal Pradesh Circle, inaugurated the exhibition in the presence of Ravinder Kumar Sharma, Superintendent of Post Offices, and Virender Pal Singh, Principal of St. Paul Senior Secondary School, Palampur. The event’s expert jury — Col. Jagdeep Sheoran, KL Sood and Prem Lal Verma — lent their philatelic wisdom to guide budding enthusiasts.
Under the evocative theme “Save Environment, Save Earth”, students from eight schools showcased creativity in a stamp design contest and a philately quiz, transforming postal art into a message of ecological awareness.
A special moment marked the release of a Commemorative Cover honouring 100 Years of Excellence of St Paul Senior Secondary School, Palampur.
