In recognition of his remarkable contributions to the field of education, AJ Singh, Director of Pinegrove School, Dharampur, has been nominated as a member of the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education. Among the four nominated members, he is the only representative from a school, making his induction significant for school education in the state.

The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education is responsible for finalising the curriculum, textbooks, examination standards, and conducting board examinations for secondary schools in the state. It comprises 12 ex-officio members, including principal secretaries, vice chancellors of major universities, and directors from various educational institutions. In March this year, the Governor notified four new nominated members, including AJ Singh, an assistant professor from Government College Nadaun, the Deputy Director cum District Project Officer from DIET Hamirpur, and the Principal of DAV College, Kangra.

AJ Singh brings with him vast experience in residential schooling, having successfully run Pinegrove School campuses at Dharampur and Subathu since the school’s inception in 1991. An alumnus of Lawrence School, Sanawar, Singh has held several prominent positions in Indian school education. He served as Chairman of the Indian Public Schools’ Conference (IPSC) in 2018 and was Vice-President of the Boarding Schools Association of India (BSAI) in 2021.
