The under-19 girls cricket team of Pinegrove School, Subathu, finished runner-up in the six-day CBSE National Cricket Championship-2025 that concluded in Bhopal last evening.

Representing North Zone-II in the U-19 (Akanksha Gurung, Vanya Lamba, Geet Kaur, Kanika Chauhan and Avani) and U-17 (Satyanjna Sanchi) categories, the Pinegrove girls displayed exceptional skills, determination and teamwork throughout the tournament.

In the thrilling final against the South Zone-II team, the North Zone-II team put up a spirited fight but fell short by 54 runs. The South Zone-II team scored 142 for the loss of three wickets, while the North Zone-II team managed 88 for five wickets with Avani remaining unbeaten on 21 runs. Satyanjna Sanchi earned the honour of leading the CBSE Under-17 North Zone-II team as captain — a remarkable feat for both her and the school.
