Residents of Himachal Pradesh (HP), living in Mumbai, have urged Mandi Member of Parliament (MP) Kangana Ranaut to seek a direct train connectivity between Mumbai and the state from the Railways Minister.
Amit Rajput, a resident of HP living in Mumbai, has highlighted the absence of direct train connectivity between Mumbai and HP, which forces many travellers to disembark at the Chandigarh railway station, sometimes in the middle of the night, due to the unavailability of a direct train to the state.
He said the journey from Mumbai to Chandigarh took approximately 30 hours, followed by an additional nine to 10 hours by bus to reach various destinations in HP, posing many challenges to commuters.
