Plantation drive organised at Jaypee University

Members of Environment, Ecology and Health Club of Jaypee University of Information Technology, Waknaghat, planted saplings on the campus. Vice-Chancellor Rajendra Kumar Sharma, Amit Shrivastava (JYC faculty coordinator) and other staff and students participated in the drive. Around 20 saplings of three species — Callistemon (bottle brush), sapindus mukorossi (reetha) and grevillea robusta (silver oak) — were planted to raise awareness about the importance of tree conservation.

Commenting on the book, retired bureaucrat and writer KR Bharti said the author does not let the curiosity of the reader die till the end, the language is flawless and expressions used are new. The author grew up in Shimla and now lives in Montreal, Canada.

Bias alleged in appointments

NSUI state president Chhatar Thakur has alleged that the HPU administration was bypassing all rules at the behest of the BJP and the RSS in making appointments in the university. He alleged that in the teacher recruitment interview, starting from April 19 in the university, the unreserved posts advertised in one department had been transferred to another department along with the roster to help people associated with the RSS get appointment.
