Former Union Minister and Hamirpur MP Anurag Thakur today said that India would give a befitting reply to Pakistan over the Pahalgam terror attack and would not let the neighbouring country to use its territory to sponsor terrorism and kill innocent people in India.

Anurag, while talking to mediapersons at Sundernagar in Mandi district, said that the entire world had seen how Pakistan was sponsoring terrorism in India. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has raised his voice against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism at all international platforms and got widespread support,” he claimed.

He said that the entire nation had sought strong action against those responsible for the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. He lashed out at the state government for its alleged failure to fulfil the 10 guarantees the Congress had given to people before the 2022 Assembly elections. “All development works in the state have come to a standstill and the government’s coffers are empty. Not only common people but also Congress workers are fed up with their own government,” he alleged.

Anurag questioned the state government’s reluctance to hand over the case related to the death of Vimal Negi, Chief Engineer of Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd (HPPCL), to the CBI and the impartiality of the probe by the Special Investigation Team (SIT).

Anurag addressed a public meeting at Sundernagar as part of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Samman Abhiyan organised by the BJP. He highlighted the contribution of Ambedkar to nation building and framing of the Constitution.

He alleged, “The Congress had been persistently trying to dilute the spirit of the Constitution since Independence, including during the Emergency imposed by Indira Gandhi.” Sundernagar MLA Rakesh Jamwal was present on the occasion.
