PM Vishwakarma scheme seminar at Gaiety

The challenge was to find and identify the actual artisan to be benefited by the Prime Minister Vishwakarma Scheme, said Ashok Kumar Gautam, IEDS, Head of Office, DFO, Solan, while giving a presentation on the PM Vishwakarma scheme.

He was speaking during the one-day awareness programme organised recently on the PM Vishwakarma scheme at the historic Gaiety Theatre in Shimla. Around 150 artisans, craftsmen and local residents participated in the event.

He explained what the scheme was, who the beneficiaries would be, the eligibility criteria, and how applicants should submit their applications. He said only tradition artisans, and not the applicants having short-term training/courses in the listed 18 trades from any institute/organisation and were earning a livelihood on the basis of these courses, would be covered under the scheme.

So far, 1,77,842 applications had been submitted in the state, out of which 11,514 had been registered, he added.
