Police training Headquarter to be shifted to Palampur

The Armed Police and Training Headquarters will be shifted from Shimla to Palampur and the DIG, Intelligence, will now operate from Dharamsala. This was stated by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while presiding over the passing-out parade of the DSP probationers (12th batch) and Sub-Inspector Probationers (8th batch) at Himachal Pradesh Police Training College, Daroh, in Kangra today.

The Chief Minister said the government had also accorded approval to filling of 1,000 posts of constable, but due to Covid, the process had been delayed. He said the process would be expedited.
He announced Rs10 crore to the college for strengthening the infrastructure. He also announced the opening of ASP Office at Nurpur.
Thakur also inaugurated a residential building for the trainees and announced Rs 1.37 crore from the Disaster Management Fund to the police force for undertaking activities. He also announced that the road leading to the in-house helipad would be metalled.
He also distributed prizes to the best probationers. Pranav Chauhan, DSP probationer, was adjudged the best among DSP probationers and Navneet Saini, Sub-Inspector, was the best in his category.
The CM hoisted the Police Flag and took salute from the impressive march past by contingents of the Himachal Police. Pranav Chauhan commanded the parade.
The CM said this was a proud moment for the parents and family members of the officers.
Sanjay Kundu, DGP, said the police had played a commendable role in effectively fighting the pandemic as frontline warriors. He thanked the Chief Minister for providing liberal funds for strengthening infrastructure in the college.
Principal, Police Training College, Atul Fulzale administered oath to the probationers. He said three DSPs and 15 probationer SIs had passed out from the college. A colourful cultural programme was also organised.
