Poll code imposed ahead of panchayat byelections

Deputy Commissioner Apoorv Devgan has stated that the by-elections for vacant positions in Panchayati Raj Institutions of Mandi district would be held on September 29. The by-elections will be conducted for the position of pradhan in Reyor, Khalwan and Tumun gram panchayats. For the position of up-pradhan, elections would be held in Thatta (Bali Chowki development block), Golwan (Chauntara), and Chanauta (Dharmpur) gram panchayats.

Additionally, by-elections will take place for ward members in various wards including Sadehara in Sidhyani panchayat, Kasna in Jala panchayat, Takoli in Takoli panchayat, Banon in Druppal panchayat, Hadidrahl in Drahl panchayat, Gadiyara in Khadihar panchayat, Bharola in main Bharola panchayat, Ansawai in Gharwasda panchayat, Gulela in Patadighat panchayat, Naun in Ropdi panchayat, Navrot in Dhalwan panchayat, Khload in Khload panchayat, Sarachi in Khlani panchayat, and Bhurata in Bhalhadi panchayat.

The DC said the election code of conduct had come into effect immediately in the areas concerned.
