Power board’s tableau wins first prize at winter carnival
The Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) secured first place for its attractive tableau at the inaugural event of the Manali Winter Carnival on January 20.
Announcing the achievement, Anurag Parashar, Consultant (PR) of HPSEBL, said the tableau was a major centre of attraction at the festival.
This year’s tableau was based on the voluntary surrender of electricity subsidies by domestic consumers. It creatively depicted HPSEBL’s scheme encouraging consumers to give up subsidies and showcased the economic benefits of this initiative.
The tableau featured a message from the Chief Minister at the front, urging people to give up the subsidy, economic development in the state as a result of subsidy surrender in the middle section, local MLA Bhuvneshwar voluntarily giving up the subsidy in the rear section and slogans promoting the initiative were raised from the tableau.
According to Parashar, the design, colour scheme, enthusiastic participation of HPSEBL employees and the effective delivery of the message made the tableau stand out. It was widely appreciated by both locals and tourists as it paraded from the Circuit House to Hadimba Mata Temple through the Manali market.
The first-prize trophy was presented to HPSEBL on the final day of the carnival. A similar tableau on the same theme was also showcased at The Ridge, Shimla, during the Republic Day celebrations. Parashar emphasised that the primary goal of the tableau was to spread awareness about the state government’s scheme and encourage more people to participate in the initiative.
