The electrical sub-division of HPSEBL restored power to the tehsil office complex in Nurpur on Thursday after it had been disconnected yesterday due to the office's failure to pay outstanding dues of Rs 54,32,229. The disconnection had disrupted revenue-related works, but visitors were relieved after the power was restored today, allowing them to complete their tasks without further issues.
Assistant Engineer Bhupinder Singh said the power supply was reinstated after the tehsil office provided an undertaking to deposit Rs 5 lakh towards the outstanding dues on February 5. He added that the authorities had also assured of clearing the full amount by March 31. Singh said the SDM office in Nurpur had also been issued a defaulter notice for its outstanding dues of Rs 42 lakh. While the power supply to this office was also set to be disconnected, the disconnection was postponed after the SDM office submitted a similar undertaking.
