Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today announced the upgrade of Pragpur sub-tehsil to a tehsil and the merger of Chalali and Samnoli patwar circles of Dehra tehsil in Pragpur tehsil.
Tourism activities in Pong Dam area
The government stands firmly with people on the issue of the notification of the area surrounding the Pong Dam as an eco-sensitive zone. He presided over the ‘Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar’ programme at Nakki village in the Pragpur area of Kangra district. He inaugurated four projects worth Rs 11.32 crore for Pragpur, namely the Mandwara-Karol road via Chanauriya Basti, Baba Balotu Mandir-Sukar-Dadri link road, a causeway over Nalsuha Khad and two bridges on the Bani-Pragpur road via Dangra Sidh road at Lagbaliana and Sehri Khad.
He announced Rs 1 crore for the reopening of the Community Health Centre at Rakkar, Rs 1 crore for Dadasiba College, Rs 3 crore for Kotla College, Rs 6 crore for Rakkar College, Rs 1 crore for a Joint Office Building at Dadasiba, Rs 25 lakh for Government Senior Secondary School at Saleti, Rs 20 lakh for a health centre at Saleti, Rs 2 crore for the academic block of Pharmacy College at Kuhna and Rs 1 crore for the ITI at Terrace.
Sukhu also announced the upgrade of Dadasiba police post to a police station, starting of BBA and BCA courses in Rakkar College, Kotla Behad College and Dadasiba College, starting of science and commerce courses in Government Senior Secondary Schools at Nalsuna and Kaloha from the next academic session and the opening of an Ayurvedic dispensary at Chamukha.
He said that adequate funds would be provided for the new building of the health centre at Pragpur, restarting the Pathankot-Chintpurni bus service, starting the Terrace-Shimla via Kotla night bus service, extending the Shimla-Pragpur bus service route up to Seul Khad and the construction of roads in Kotla Behad.
The Chief Minister also presented cheques for Rs 31,000 each to 10 beneficiaries under the Shagun Scheme. He said that 65,000 mutation cases had been settled in revenue lok adalats organised by the state government. So far, 15,362 mutation and 742 partition cases had been settled in the revenue lok adalats in Kangra district alone.
The Chief Minister said that due to financial mismanagement by the previous BJP government, every Himachal resident today had a debt of more than Rs 1 lakh.
