Preparations underway for International Renukaji fair in October

Deputy Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly and Chairman of the Shri Renukaji Vikas Board, Vinay Kumar, chaired a meeting at Kubja Pavilion, Renuka, to review arrangements for the upcoming International Shri Renukaji Fair. The annual cultural and religious event will be held from October 31 to November 5, 2025, continuing its rich traditions.

Vinay Kumar said Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu would be invited to inaugurate the fair, while Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla would be invited as the chief guest for the closing ceremony. He stressed that this year’s event would be made more grand and vibrant, aiming to enhance its global recognition. All departments were instructed to ensure seamless arrangements.

The meeting also proposed inviting deities from other regions to enrich the festivities. Detailed reviews were held on electricity, water supply, fire safety, transportation, traffic management, parking, health services, sanitation, security and law and order.

Highlighting the fair’s main attraction, Kumar said the grand Shobha Yatra will begin from the Giri River, passing through Dadahu School Ground, Bus Stand, Giripul and the fairground, before concluding at Shri Parashuram Ji Devthi. The procession will start at 2 pm and reach Shri Parashuram Ji Talab by 4.30 pm. He added that the use of meat, fish, liquor and coconuts will be strictly prohibited within the fair premises.

The fair will be organised as a plastic-free, green event with NGO support. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Sirmaur Priyanka Verma, government and non-government board members and was conducted by Nahan SDM and Board Member Secretary Rajeev Sankhyan. Following the meeting, Vinay Kumar also heard public grievances and directed officials to resolve them promptly.
