Prime Minister will be remembered for historic day, says Jamwal

Shimla, August 5
The BJP today organised ‘deepmala’ at the state headquarters here and party activists distributed sweets to celebrate Sri Ram Temple ‘bhoomi pujan’ held in Ayodhya.
BJP general secretary Trilok Jamwal said after the wait of 500 years, the bhoomi pujan and the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the temple was performed today, paving the way for the construction of a temple. Prime Minister Narendra Modi would always be remembered for the initiative.
He said the BJP was committed to constructing the temple in Ayodhya in a constitutional manner and the party passed the resolution of the temple for the first time in Palampur under the leadership of LK Advani.
BJP state president Suresh Kashyap said the credit went to Modi.
Senior leader of the party and chairman of Himfed Ganesh Dutt, who was actively associated with the Ram Janmabhoomi movement in 1992, shared his experiences. Dutt, who was the convener of Shila Pujan and head of the first batch of 56 kar sevaks from Shimla, talked about the arrest and imprisonment of kar sevaks.
Diyas light up Mandi houses
- Diyas were lit up in a majority of the houses in Mandi town to celebrate the occasion of Ram mandir bhoomi pujan at Ayodhya.
- Chauhta Bazaar of the town was especially illuminated with diyas by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and other organisations like Hridyavasi Seva Samiti, Veermandal, Sanatan Dharm Samiti, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and Manav Utthan Samiti.
- Harmeet Bittu, district president, VHP, said it was a great day as the long-awaited Lord Ram temple would be constructed at Ayodhya. “Chhoti Kashi Mandi has a deep connection with religious activities and is known as Lord Shiva Nagri,” he said. TNS
