Probe ordered into Rohru school incident
The police registered an FIR under relevant Sections of the BNS and SC/ST (POA) Act against the accused
The allegations of beating up of a Class-I student in Government Primary School, Bhaloon, Rohru, have been found unsubstantiated in a preliminary inquiry conducted by the Directorate of School Education.
“The Block Education Officer has reported that the allegations of beating up of a student have not been found correct. The department has issued orders for a detailed inquiry into the matter by a principal,” said Ashish Kohli, Director, School Education.
As per the police complaint filed by one Durga Singh, his child was thrashed by a teacher appointed by the school management committee, leading to bleeding from the minor’s ear and partial loss of hearing. The police registered an FIR under relevant Sections of the BNS and SC/ST (POA) Act against the accused.
“As per the medical report, some injury was noticed. The final report from ENT experts is awaited,” a police official said.
Durga Singh had also alleged that Dalit and Nepali students were seated separately from the upper-caste children for the mid-day meal in the school.
