Sirmaur District Magistrate Priyanka Verma has issued prohibitory orders ahead of the Shri Mahamaya Bala Sundari Ashwin Navratra Fair at Trilokpur, scheduled to be held from September 22 to October 7. The orders, released here today, aim to ensure safety, religious sanctity and smooth management of the large gathering of devotees during the fair.
Verma clarified that carrying or transporting firearms, deadly weapons or explosive materials will be strictly prohibited within the limits of Kala Amb Police Station and the fair area during this period. To prevent untoward incidents, devotees will not be allowed to offer coconuts at the temple and no person under the influence of alcohol or involved in unlawful activities will be permitted in the mela area.
Traffic restrictions have also been announced to maintain smooth vehicular movement on the Kala Amb-Trilokpur road. From September 22 to October 7, vehicles loaded with straw, husk or similar industrial materials, particularly trucks and tractors, will not be allowed to ply on this stretch between 6 am and 10 pm.
In view of religious sentiments, the sale of meat and fish has been banned across the entire fair area for the duration of the mela. However, meat and fish vendors operating along the Kala Amb-Trilokpur road have been directed to conduct sales only within their shops, keeping the produce covered, to avoid offending devotees.
