Peeved at the inter-state borders not opened in the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh (BBN) industrial belt, locals led by former Congress MLA Ramkumar Chawdhary today staged a protest near the Barotiwala inter-state barrier.

Chawdhary said despite the lockdown having been lifted nationwide, the state government had imposed restrictions at the borders and a resident coming home has to avail an e-pass. The locals residing at the border areas were facing immense problems in visiting their own homes from outside.

He said people have to visit nearby villages in Haryana for attending to their agriculture land and go to Chandigarh for treatment besides visiting their relatives. They were facing hardships as their entry was prohibited without an e-pass.

Locals said several main roads like Pinjore-Marrawala-Barotiwala, Gorakhnath-Jharmajri-Rampur Jangi, Barotiwala-Bagguwala, Nanakpur -Kalujhinda-Mandhala and Ropar-Dheerowal-Nalagarh Road were sealed. — TNS
