Provisions for Covid +ve aspirants

It is notified for the information of all candidates who are appearing for HP Subordinate Allied Services (Main) Examination 2019, scheduled to be held on August 6 and 7 in Shimla, Mandi and Dharamsala, that if any of them is declared Covid positive or is under home/institutional quarantine, he/she is advised to inform the control room of Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission on telephone numbers 0172-2623786, 0172-2629738 and 98160-47174 or by e-mail at hppsc.shimla.71@gmail.com. Such candidates would be facilitated to appear for the above mentioned examination at their respective quarantine centre/Covid Care Centre/ or any other place identified by district administration in their respective districts. It is further informed that the candidate residing in containment zone but with no symptoms of the disease have been allowed to appear in the examination. However, such candidates must inform the same to the Centre Supervisor on reaching the examination venue so that they may be seated in a separate room as per the protocol.

NSUI activists meet Governor

Members of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) have urged the Governor to ensure rules are followed strictly in the appointment of the Palampur Agriculture University Vice-Chancellor. NSUI state president Chatar Singh said a renowned educationalist should be considered for the post, someone who is neither connected to any political party or has a past that could bring the office into disrepute. The NSUI also demanded that the upcoming HP Subordinate Allied Services (Main) Examination on August 6 and 7 in Shimla be cancelled.

Students bring laurels to state

Students of Aryans College of Pharmacy, Rajpura, near Chandigarh, secured good ranks in their final examinations. In BPharmacy, Ankit Singh of Kangra bagged the first position by scoring 8.58 semester grade point average (SGPA), Ekta Wadhera of Patiala bagged the second position by scoring 8.30 SGPA, Ajay of Kullu and Sayiar Khalid of Anantnag jointly bagged the third position by scoring 7.83 SGPA in their third semester exams conducted by Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University, Bathinda.
