Nigerian held from New Delhi in drugs case

Tracing the links in a drugs case, the Shimla police have arrested a 38-year-old Nigerian from Uttam Nagar in New Delhi and recovered 9.22 gm of chitta (adulterated heroine) from his possession.

The accused, with a history of dealing in narcotics, had earlier served time in Tihar Jail in 2018 and 2019 for another case. In the present case, he has been booked under Section 29 of the Act.

Five local youth, in the age group of 22 to 27 years, were found consuming chitta in a house in New Shimla on September 16. Investigations revealed that the drug was supplied by a 49-year-old man from Zirakpur in Punjab. The police arrested the accused on September 18 and recovered 10.34 gm of chitta from him. —TNS
