Punjab Kings players have begun their five-day practice session at the scenic HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala ahead of IPL 2025. Key players, including Prabh Simran Singh, Shashank Singh and Indian spin veteran Yuzvendra Chahal, along with 10 other team members, are rigorously training to acclimatise to the conditions.
During the practice session, players focused on pitch analysis, understanding its nature, and refining their game strategies. This training camp has also provided an opportunity for HPCA players to train alongside Punjab Kings, gaining valuable experience.
The presence of star cricketers has generated significant excitement among fans, particularly the youth, who are eagerly waiting for hours to catch a glimpse of their favorite players. Many can be seen holding mobiles, capturing moments of their cricketing idols.
Punjab Kings will continue their training for another three days, including practice matches. However, these matches will be subject to weather conditions.
Dharamshala Stadium, the home ground for Punjab Kings, will host three IPL matches this season. The team is set to play against Lucknow Super Giants on May 4, Mumbai Indians on May 8 and Delhi Capitals on May 11.
HPCA director Sanjay Sharma emphasised that these matches would provide a much-needed boost to Kangra’s tourism industry. He credited Arun Dhumal for his relentless efforts in securing IPL matches for the region, strengthening its reputation as a premier cricketing destination.
