Punjab man arrested with heroin from Shoghi near Shimla

The accused has been identified as Baljit Singh (28), a resident of Kadar Wala village in Moga district.
According to the police, Baljit was arrested when the special cell of the police was checking vehicles at Shoghi barrier. The police stopped a Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus that was coming from Solan to Shimla. During checking, the police found the contraband in the possession of the accused who was travelling on the bus. Following the seizure of heroin, the police immediately arrested him.
Police officials stated that a case under Section 21 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985 has been registered against the accused and further investigation is on.
