In a bid to ensure free and fair poll in Punjab with no disruption from Himachal, Inspector General of Police (IGP), South range, today monitored security arrangements at various inter-state barriers in Nalagarh today.
IGP Himanshu Mishra, who has been camping at Nalagarh since last evening, inspected the inter-state barriers like Dhabota, Dheerowal, Bagheri, etc, which share a border with three Assembly segments of Punjab – Rupnagar, Anandpur Sahib and Kharar.
Mishra said, “Security has been beefed up at all inter-state barriers which share border with Punjab in view of the poll being held today. Strict checking of vehicles, which enter Punjab from our inter-state barriers, is being done to ensure that the poll process was not disrupted and free and fair poll is held.”
Senior officials, including the SP, Baddi, and DSPs, Baddi and Nalagarh, also took stock of the situation at various barriers. —
