The Minister heard the concerns of local populace and assured them that the state government would construct a new bridge to restore connectivity between Shimla and Mandi.
He said the government plans to build a double-lane bridge, with the Public Works Department tasked with identifying a suitable site from Gharat Nola to Ghanghar in the area.
A committee will be formed to conduct a structural audit of the damaged bridge, determining whether it's safe for pedestrian use. The committee's report will guide further action.
The Minister attributed the bridge's damage to the increasing water level caused by the dam, highlighting the need for a new and more resilient bridge.
