A second-year MBBS student from Tanda Medical College has been suspended for one and a half years and fined Rs 1.5 lakh for ragging. This is the first time such a heavy fine has been imposed, sending a strong message against ragging. Principal Milap Sharma confirmed the action, stating it was based on the anti-ragging committee's report. The committee investigated complaints and found that a junior student was harassed and beaten by seniors during Holi. Following the committee's recommendation, the college administration took strict action, imposing both suspension and a fine on the offender. The move aims to curb ragging and ensure a safer environment for students.
