The Meteorological Department has forecast that rain will continue in the state till May 16. It has issued a yellow alert for rainfall in several districts for the next two days. A yellow warning of rain was issued for Chamba and Kangra for tomorrow and for Shimla, Kullu, Solan, Sirmaur, Lahaul and Spiti, Chamba and Kangra districts for May 12. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are very likely to occur in isolated areas of these districts.

Light rainfall in the state will continue till May 12 while rain will occur in mid and higher hills from May 13 to 16.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rain occurred in many places in the state during the past 24 hours. The maximum temperature in Shimla was 22°C, Dharamsala (27°C), Dalhousie (14.5°C), Sundernagar (32.2°C), Bilaspur (35°C), Hamirpur (35.4°C), Kangra (30.5°C), Kasauli (23.2°C), Bhuntar (28°C), Kalpa (19.2°C), Nahan (27°C), Solan (26°C), Manali (18°C), Kangra (21°C), Kufri (18.2°C), Narkanda (15°C) and Mandi (31.8°C).
