Rainfall in Himachal predicted from Oct 4; three-day yellow alert issued

Himachal Pradesh is set to witness another spell of heavy rainfall from October 4 onwards as the state’s Meteorological Department has issued a yellow weather warning for the state from October 4 to 6. For October 4, yellow warning has been issued for Kangra, Bilaspur, Una, Sirmaur and Chamba.

As per the department, a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect northwest India, including Himachal Pradesh from October 4 onwards, leading to heavy rains in isolated places of the state. During this period, maximum temperatures are also very likely to fall by 2°C to 3°C.

Weather was mostly dry across the state during the past 24 hours. Minimum temperatures were above 2°C to 6°C ranging between 5°C and 25°C while maximum temperatures were above 2°C to 7°C ranging between 20°C and 36°C.

Shimla recorded 25.2°C, Dharamsala 29°C, Manali 25.6°C, Kangra 32.2°C, Mandi 30.6°C, Bilaspur 33.9°C, Hamirpur 30.9°C, Nahan 29.5°C, Solan 30.2°C, Bhuntar 32°C, Kufri 20.3°C, Kalpa 24°C and Narkanda 20.8°C.

With 35.2°C maximum temperature, Una was the hottest place in the state while Tabo in tribal district was the coldest as it recorded 5.2°C minimum temperature.
