Rajeev Bindal set to retain BJP top post in Himachal, files nomination for third term
The suspense over the new Himachal Pradesh BJP president ended today with Dr Rajeev Bindal filing his nomination for the top party post, paving the way for a third consecutive term.
Bindal submitted his nomination at the state BJP headquarters in the presence of senior party leaders, including BJP National Vice President Saudan Singh, former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, state BJP in-charge Shrikant Sharma, co-incharge Sanjay Tandon, and several party MLAs.
Widely seen as a consensus choice among various factions within the party, Bindal’s candidature signals continuity in the state unit’s leadership ahead of key political challenges.
With no other contender in sight, his election is seen as a mere formality.
