The Congress on Wednesday organised a function to commemorate the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

Speaking on the occasion, senior Congress leader Dr Pushpendra Verma described Rajiv Gandhi as the “architect of modern India,” crediting his policies and vision for placing the nation on the path of progress.

Verma highlighted that it was Rajiv Gandhi who initiated the computer revolution and promoted information technology, paving the way for India’s digital future.

He also recalled Gandhi’s historic decision to lower the voting age to 18, which empowered millions of young people to participate actively in democracy. “His foresight and vision continue to guide the nation even today,” Verma said.

The event was attended by former MLAs Kuldeep Pathania and Anita Verma, APMC Chairman Ajay Sharma, Naresh Thakur, Hoshiyar Singh, Nisha Katoch, Rakesh Rani and other Congress leaders and workers.
