Rampur man dies during Shrikhand Mahadev Yatra

A devotee who set out on the Shrikhand Mahadev Yatra was killed after experiencing a fall near Brahati nullah. According to information, Siddarth Sharma (31), a resident of Rampur, was carrying food material for a langar (community feast) during the Shrikhand Mahadev Yatra.
He got critically injured after falling into a 50-m gorge on Thursday. Siddarth was rescued after a lot of effort and rushed to the base camp at Singhgad at midnight.
He was then taken to Civil Hospital at Nirmand. The next day, he was referred to IGMC, Shimla, from Khaneri hospital in Rampur. He succumbed to his injuries at the IGMC.
Siddarth is survived by a five-year-old daughter, pregnant wife, besides parents and a sister.
Five persons have lost their lives on way to Shrikhand Mahadev this year. However, this is the first death after the official commencement of the yatra. Four people had died before the official start of the yatra.
