Rampur power project management gives Rs 10,000 to women of BPL families
The management of the 412 MW Rampur hydropower project, developed by the SJVN, provided a financial assistance of Rs 10,000 each for healthcare to women of BPL (below poverty line) families of seven panchayats during a programme held at Bayal village in Shimla district on Saturday.
The amount has been deposited in the women’s bank accounts. The women were also presented with gift packs of dry fruits.
Project Head Vikas Marwah said under the CSR policy of the Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN), Rampur hydropower station is running various programmes and schemes for the development and healthcare of women of affected panchayats.
“Under the SJVN’s Silver Jubilee Women and Child Development Scheme, there is also a provision to provide financial assistance for pre-natal and post-natal healthcare for women belonging to BPL families and their infants,” he said.
The project head further said that free healthcare facilities such as X-ray, physiotherapy and dental clinic were being provided to local residents through the project hospital established in Bayal. Apart from this, free health facilities are also being provided to locals at their doorsteps through Help India’s mobile medical van.
