Solan, June 1
District Magistrate (DM), Solan, on Monday declared Rampur village in Ramshehar tehsil of Nalagarh sub-division as a containment zone and its adjoining areas of Lohana, Ner Ramshehar, Dhooher and Baddu as buffer zones after the detection of a COVID-positive case on Sunday.
In his order issued on Monday, Solan DM KC Chaman stated that since a large number of people had attended the cremation of the mother of a COVID-positive youth on May 28 at Rampur village from the adjoining areas, they had come in direct or indirect contact with him. In order to trace all the contacts, the movement of people has been prohibited in this zone so as to minimise the risk to the lives of the residents.
SDM Nalagarh has been notified as the overall in-charge who will ensure the supply of essential commodities to the residents in the containment zone.
The Block Medical Officer, Nalagarh, has also been directed to deploy adequate health staff for conducting door-to-door screening of people for flu like symptoms and for keeping regular surveillance over them.
The Baddi Police will also deploy adequate staff to restrict the exit and entry of people in both the zones and also control vehicular traffic. All vehicles moving in the zone will also be sanitised as an added precaution.
Notably, a 33-year-old CRPF man, who is a part of the Delhi Vidhan Sabha Security and had come to meet his ailing mother at Rampur on May 26, has tested positive for the virus.
The woman had died the next day and 91 people, including 65 of those who had attended the cremation, have been identified as his primary and secondary contacts.
