Rangoli, photography competitions light up HPNLU’s Foundation Week
Event was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Prof (Dr) Priti Saxena, who encouraged participants to embrace artistic platforms alongside academics
As part of its ninth Foundation Week celebrations, Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla, hosted rangoli making and photography competitions that drew enthusiastic participation from students.
The event was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Prof (Dr) Priti Saxena, who encouraged participants to embrace artistic platforms alongside academics. She lauded the efforts of the university’s cultural wing, emphasising that such initiatives enrich campus life while fostering inclusivity and diversity.
The rangoli making competition, themed “Indian Culture and Heritage”, witnessed participation from 29 students. Intricate and vibrant designs depicted the richness of Indian traditions, earning appreciation from judges Dr Bharat Barowalia and Dr Nutan Kanwar for their creativity and cultural depth.
The photography competition, themed “Origin and Odyssey”, saw nine students present thought-provoking interpretations of journeys and beginnings. Judges Dr Ruchi Raj Thakur and Dr Nutan Kanwar praised the originality and artistic vision reflected in the entries.
The event concluded with the announcement of winners. Vice-Chancellor Prof (Dr) Priti Saxena felicitated them with certificates and mementos, commending the students for balancing academic excellence with artistic pursuits.
