Congress president Kuldeep Rathore yesterday said the voice of the Opposition could not be muffled with threats. He accused the BJP regime of adopting double standards in booking people for violating social-distancing norms.

Rathore said the government was clearly targeting the Congress as far as violation of social distance norms is concerned while its own people are getting away with anything. “The Congress will continue to raise issues concerning the public, irrespective of the action or consequences,” he remarked.

Rathore said the Congress as the principal opposition party had always resorted to peaceful means to stage a protest. “Unlike the BJP which has always been very aggressive in its protest, Congress believes in the principles of Mahatma Gandhi,” he said.

Rathore further added that the BJP, instead of focusing on tackling Covid, is talking of Mission Repeat. “This only goes on to prove that the BJP is power hungry and it is mindlessly pursuing this agenda,” he said.
