The Devbhoomi Sangharsh Samiti on Sunday demanded timely demolition of illegal construction at Sanjauli mosque.

Bharat Bhushan of the sangharsh samiti said on October 5, the Commissioner’s Court had directed the Sanjauli Mosque Committee and the Himachal Pradesh Waqf Board to demolish the three unauthorised floors of the mosque by December, however, the administration had failed to comply with these orders.

He said when the Commissioner’s Court had directed to demolish the unauthorised floors of the mosque, then why wasn’t the unauthorided floors razed within the scheduled time and why didn’t the court initiating the proceedings of the contempt of its orders.

Additionally, the Himachal Pradesh High Court had directed the Commissioner’s Court to resolve the case within eight weeks by December 21, however, nothing has been done so far. This shows that the Commissioner’s Court is not even complying with the high court’s order, he said.

“A hearing regarding the case was scheduled for March 15, which did not took place,” he added. Bhushan alleged that the Commissioner’s Court under the pressure of the sate government had conspired against the Hindu community. “Apart from this, no action has been taken yet against migrants coming from outside the state, including Rohingyas and Bangladeshis,” he alleged.
