Decrying the red tape in revenue-related works of the government departments, District Congress Committee’s general secretary Shiv Dutt Thakur said noting on files done by some officials often delayed the work and misled senior officers.
While raising this point at the district-level grievances committee meeting held here today, he said, “The hapless residents wasted a lot of time in collecting due papers for revenue-related work, while their genuine work suffered.”
He lamented that despite directions of the Deputy Commissioner to deal with cases of land (leased out or allotted) on Chakota-basis by the panchayats, these were lying pending in various offices — right from the patwar circles to the offices of the SDMs. “Such cases continue to languish in various revenue offices and directions of the DC have not been adhered to.”
He demanded that a list of pending cases should be issued by the patwar circles and effort should be made to deal with such cases rather than delay them by making adverse file noting as it does not help.
Thakur also raised the issue of delay in allotment of three biswa land to eligible families in the rural areas for houseless and landless people. He said cases where adequate land was not available in the pool should be allotted land from other pools to provide relief to the people.
Taking stern note of the absence of the Nalagarh Block Medical Officer and HRTC Regional Manager from the meeting, Health and Family Welfare Minister DR Shandil, who headed the meeting, directed the DC to issue notices to them.
As many as 108 agenda items pertaining to various items were thrashed out in the day-long meeting today where officials from various departments from across the district were present.
