A two-week national refresher course on ‘Research methodology and publication ethics’ concluded on Saturday at the UGC Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre, Himachal Pradesh University (HPU). The event saw participation from 37 faculty members representing 13 states.
Prof Mahavir Singh, Vice-Chancellor of the HPU, was the chief guest at the valedictory function and was welcomed by the Centre’s Director, Prof. Desh Raj Thakur. In his address, Prof. Thakur emphasized the relevance of the programme in today’s academic context and shared positive feedback received from participants. He congratulated all attendees on the successful completion of the course.
Delivering the keynote address, Prof. Singh lauded the efforts of the Teacher Training Centre and appreciated the enthusiasm of the participants. He stressed the need for integrating new teaching techniques, advancing research practices, and adopting artificial intelligence in higher education. He also encouraged collaborative efforts for academic progress.
Dr Ashwani Kumar, the course coordinator and Assistant Director, acknowledged the contributions of the resource persons and thanked the Vice-Chancellor for his guidance and encouragement.
