Registration of migrants starts in Hamirpur’s Bhoranj
The Station House Officer at the Bhoranj police station, Nirmal Singh, has started the process to register and verify the credentials of migrant labourers living in the area under his jurisdiction.
He said the registration process would be conducted at the police station and police posts at Jahu and Awahdevi for maintaining a region-wise register of the migrant labourers.
He said the motive behind the exercise was to ensure that the administration had a complete and up-to-date record of all migrant labourers living in the area. Under the campaign, the migrant labourers were required to renew their registration every month.
The SHO said landlords must verify addresses of their tenants to ensure accurate records. Additionally, ‘parcha-12’ will be issued to the police station concerned so that a migrant labourer’s permanent address could be verified with the authorities on the basis of the information provided by him.
SHO Nirmal Singh has appealed all stakeholders, including panchayat pradhans, councillors, contractors, shopkeepers and landlords, to ensure the registration of their employees and tenants.
He added that individuals seeking registration must submit a copy of their Aadhaar card, along with a verification letter from respective landlords or employers.
