Repair snag in machine

The poor working of the PWD staff has put villagers of Shiller in the Sanawar area to inconvenience as an earth-moving machine, which had developed a snag about two months ago, is yet to be repaired. It is lying on the road leading to Shiller village. The road is in a pitiable condition but the PWD has cared little to repair it as well as the machine. The road is used by scores of people on a daily basis. Pawan, Sanawar

No cleanliness in vegetable market

Despite being the capital, the state of cleanliness in Shimla’s sabzi mandi is pathetic. There is no sanitation and garbage is littered all around. The Municipal Corporation, which talks about the Swachh Bharat Mission to make Shimla the cleanest city in the country, needs to take a glance at the filth in the market. The place stinks, forcing people to cover their faces. Amrik Singh, Shimla
