Due to annual maintenance work on the Una-Daulatpur Chowk rail section, two level crossings, including the one situated on the Una-Hamirpur highway near Kotla Kalan village, will remain closed on tomorrow from 10 am to 6 pm. The road links Una with Hamirpur, Mandi and Bilaspur districts.
According to the Railways authorities, a communication has been sent to the district administration.
To ensure the smooth flow of traffic on this route, the police notified the alternative routes. The traffic moving from Hamirpur to Una will be diverted to the right, about one kilometre before the level crossing through the Ajnoli village gate near Mahadev Temple and will touch the Dharamsala-Chandigarh road near the truck union in Una. The diversion will also apply to traffic moving from Una to Hamirpur.
The traffic moving from Hamirpur to Chandigarh will be diverted from Thanakalan, 18 kilometres before Una, and will pass through Bihru and Pirnigaha touching the Dharamsala-Chandigarh road in the city near Malahat village. The same route will also apply to the traffic moving from Chandigarh to Hamirpur.
The traffic moving from Amb to Hamirpur will leave the highway and take the left turn through Basal village and take roads in Nari, Chalola, Nangal Salangri villages and touch the Una-Hamirpur road at Barnoh village. The same route will apply to traffic moving from Hamirpur to Amb.
Two daily passenger trains running from Amb-Andaura to Saharanpur and Amb-Andaura to Ambala via Una will stop at Una.
