Resident Doctor Policy notified for govt colleges

The state government has notified the Resident Doctor Policy 2025 for all Government Medical colleges/institutions in Himachal Pradesh. The policy has been notified for regulating the selection and appointment of senior residents, tutor residents and junior residents in the Department of Medical Education. The policy has laid down the eligibility, selection and appointment criteria, reservation roster, etc.
The appointment for these Class I posts of senior residents and tutor specialists, who have completed MD, would be for a period of three year and until the age of 45 years, relaxable only for candidates belonging to the SC, ST and other special categories. The senior residents and tutor residents will be recruited through an entrance test, thrice a year in November, March and July.
The senior residents and tutor specialists will be issued a teaching experience certificate by the Principal of the concerned medical college which will be valid for considering promotion or appointment as an Assistant Professor. No senior residents or tutor residents will be allowed to shift to any other institution without resignation from the former institution. It is only where inter transferability is sought on couple case grounds may be considered in case of department vacancy.
The senior residents and tutor residents, posted at Indira Gandhi Medical College and Tanda Medical College can be considered for inter transferability to the new medical colleges at Chamba, Nahan, Hamirpur, Mandi and Chamiyana, subject to availability of post. — TNS
