Residents want bhawan constructed in Chamba

The Chamba Jan Hit Sangathan wants the state government to construct a multi-purpose ‘bhawan’ in the town.

In a press statement issued here today, sangathan convener Shadi Lal Sharma and president Kishore Baroo said at present, there was no such ‘bhawan’ in the town where people could organise social events and other activities under one roof.

Sangathan office-bearers said a multi-purpose building needed to be constructed in the town with a unique design and a big hall so that people could organise community functions such as weddings on a low rent.

In view of the tourism potential of the hill town, guest rooms should also be constructed in the ‘bhawan’, they said.

They also urged the government to extend the scope of the Mukhya Mantri Lok Bhawan Yojana to the towns.
