The Shimla Deputy Commissioner has asked officials to expedite the resolution of pending cases under the Forest Conservation Act (FCA), 1980, to avoid delays in developmental projects. Chairing a review meeting to discuss the 115 pending FCA cases in the district, the DC emphasised the importance of coordination among departments for efficient case management.
“The faster the FCA cases are cleared, the quicker developmental work can progress,” the DC said, calling on officials to prioritise the timely resolution of these cases. He stressed the need for a collaborative approach to ensure that development projects are not stalled due to bureaucratic delays.
To enhance efficiency, the DC also directed the Forest Department to organise a training camp on the Forest Conservation Act in the first week of February. The camp will provide guidance to departmental officers, enabling them to handle cases more effectively and streamline the process.
