Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur on Monday criticised the state government for re-introducing lottery, which, he claimed, had led to many people committing suicide in the past.

Thakur said the Virbhadra Singh government had started lottery but later banned it, realising that it was not in the interest of people. He added, “The lottery lobby had tried to pressure my government but I shut the door on it.”
