The retired personnel of the Central Paramilitary Forces Ex-Servicemen Association have threatened to start an agitation if their demand of One Rank One Pension (OROP) was not fulfilled.

Parveen Sharma, convener of the HP Employees Sangharsh Morcha, and spokesperson, All India Central Paramilitary Forces Ex-Servicemen Association, comprising retired personnel of CRPF, BSF, CISF, ITBP, SSB and Assam Rifles, said their demands were not being fulfilled despite repeated requests. The members said their demands included OROP, separate service and pension rules instead of Central Civil Services Rules, grant of ex-servicemen status with consequential benefits, CSD canteen facility and Ex-Service Men Contributory Health Scheme. They said apathy of the government towards the central paramilitary force personnel had resulted in resentment among the retired and serving personnel, widows and dependents. — OC
