Review meeting held for state function marking completion of 3 years of govt

Preparations are in full swing for the state-level celebration marking three years of the Himachal Pradesh Government set to take place at the historic Paddal Ground in Mandi on December 11. Deputy Commissioner Apoorv Devgan chaired a review meeting with officials from various departments to finalise arrangements for the landmark occasion on Monday.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner emphasised that all preparations at the venue must be completed in advance. Calling the ceremony a significant milestone for the state government, he urged officers and staff to work with coordination in carrying out their responsibilities. He also informed that multiple committees are being formed to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the event.

Departmental exhibitions will be organised at the venue to showcase the government’s welfare schemes and initiatives. Devgan directed all departmental heads to complete their preparations within the stipulated timeframe so that information about key programmes can be effectively communicated to the public.

The meeting also included detailed discussions on seating arrangements, transportation, planning and identification of parking spaces. The DC instructed officials to make proper arrangements for the movement and stay and meal of beneficiaries arriving not only from Mandi but also from other districts.

The officer further directed the Municipal Corporation to ensure cleanliness at the venue by installing mobile toilets with regular water supply. Dustbins and waste-collection facilities will be placed at multiple locations to maintain hygiene.

Focus of discussion was security arrangements. Devgan instructed the police department and security agencies to work in close coordination and implement comprehensive safety measures for all attendees. He also issued directions to the departments concerned to guarantee uninterrupted power supply and adequate drinking water facilities at the venue.

As part of the programme, cultural performances will be staged to raise public awareness about the government’s welfare initiatives and the state’s anti-drug campaign. The Deputy Commissioner asked the Department of Information and Public Relations and the Department of Language, Art and Culture to jointly prepare for these presentations.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Gursimar Singh, Additional District Magistrate Madan Kumar, SDM Rupinder Kaur, Assistant Commissioner KS Patial and senior officials from various departments.
