To ensure timely execution of development projects, the council decided to issue fresh tenders for various works. This move comes as part of a commitment to accelerating progress and ensuring that all planned projects are completed efficiently. The decision to re-tender certain contracts will help in bringing in responsible and proactive contractors who can deliver quality work on time.

Addressing the growing need for better parking facilities, the council approved tenders for four parking spaces across the city. The multilevel parking at Pakka Talab, along with new facilities at Shimla Road, the Police Lines area, and Dhaba Mohalla, will significantly ease congestion and provide convenient parking options for residents and visitors alike.

The council also took a strong step towards improving the city’s marketplace experience. With a focus on maintaining accessibility and smooth traffic flow, measures will be implemented to ensure that market areas remain spacious and pedestrian-friendly. This initiative will not only benefit emergency vehicle movement but also create a better shopping environment for the public.

In a progressive move towards animal welfare, the municipal council decided to expedite the construction of a dedicated dog shelter. This facility will provide a safe space for stray animals, promoting better management and care for the city’s canine population.

For the comprehensive development of all city wards, each of the 13 municipal wards has been allocated Rs 4 lakh for various improvement projects. Tenders for these works will be floated soon, ensuring that every part of the city benefits from enhanced infrastructure and services. To further improve sanitation, the council announced that professional cleaning services will be introduced through a tender process starting from April 1. This initiative aims to maintain cleanliness and hygiene across Nahan, contributing to a healthier and more pleasant living environment.

The city’s public spaces are also set for an upgrade, with the council approving the installation of modern lighting at Ranital Bagh, Pakka Talab, and Ramkundi Talab. This initiative will enhance security and beautify these locations, making them more appealing for residents and tourists.

One of the most significant decisions made during the meeting was the proposal to bring the historic Surendra Club under the jurisdiction of the Nahan Municipal Council. Recognising its cultural and historical value, the council aims to restore and maintain the building, ensuring its preservation for future generations.

The meeting, attended by Executive Officer Ajay Garg and council members, reflected the administration’s commitment to making Nahan a cleaner, more organised, and well-developed city. With these proactive measures in place, the future of Nahan looks brighter than ever, promising a better quality of life for its residents.
