Rewari man arrested for carrying electronic device in Railways constable exam

A Rewari resident was remanded to five days in police custody last evening by a court after he was arrested by the Barotiwala police for carrying an electronic device in an examination center for the examination of constable in the Railways Protection Force held on March 6.

He was arrested on Thursday evening by the Barotiwala police, confirmed SP Baddi Vinod Kumar.

The Barotiwala police received a complaint from Gaurav Pathania, who was deputed at the examination center at the gate of Maharaja Agrasen University.

A handheld metal detector detected an electronic device, charging jack battery, a SIM card, and a small Bluetooth device from Rahul (22).

Following this, the Barotiwala police registered a case under section 318(4), 62 of the BNS for cheating and attempting to commit a serious crime, and section 3, 4, 10, 11(1) of the Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act 2024.

Rahul, a resident of village Rewari in Sonipat, was arrested. Further investigation is ongoing in this case, informed SP Baddi Vinod Dhiman.
